Papertrey Ink Man and wife die engagement card

Simply Create Too

Hello everyone and welcome to another challenge over at Simply Create Too. We had so many great entries for the last challenge and it gets harder for the team to select the winners, so thank you for taking the time to join us. The theme for this challenge is 'Pretty Woman', (I can't get the Roy Orbison song out of my head now!), and I came up with this quick engagement card:-

I went with a CAS design using Papertrey Ink Man and Wife dies, and I embossed the sentiment from PTI Just a Kiss stamps with white embossing powder. I cut the figure from a pale grey card and the dress from white card and stamped it randomly with a tiny flower motif to remind me of my own wedding dress that had little pink flowers on it (Gosh - that takes me back!). I popped my lady up on foam tape and I love the shadow this creates around her 'cos it gives some dimension to what is a very simple card. The stitched panel is from My Favorite Things.

Why not pop over to the Simply Create Too blog to see some inspiration from the team and join us this month. You have until the 8th May to link your card, and we would love to see what you come up with.

Papertrey Ink Merry Kissmas card

Hello everyone, and welcome to another challenge over at Christmas Card Challenge where we have the ever popular 'anything goes' theme.

For my card I used Papertrey Ink You've been Framed Hexagon die for the background and the Merry Kissmas mistletoe stamps and die.

I embossed the base layer with a snow stamp and added pearls for the berries.

A sentiment from WPlus 9 Pretty Patches Tree, and some Wink of Stella glitter on the bow and mistletoe finished it off.

Do pop along to Christmas Card Challenge to see what inspiration my talented team mates have for you this week, and join with us to make your Christmas preparations easier come November and December.

Papertrey Ink and Sue Wilson birthday card

Blog-hop-logo

Hello everyone, and a specially warm welcome to Shirley of Card Art etc blog who is joining us as a new follower this week. Shirley is a wonderful card artist who can do amazing things with die cuts, and the inside of her cards, and the envelopes look just as beautiful as the cards fronts (something that I need to pay more attention to!) Do pop over to say hello and get some inspiration from her work.

Well today is the day for the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop and this time Nichole has challenged us to create a navy and pink card, giving us this lovely inspiration photo

Blog hop inspiration

I came up with this card

I used Sue Wilson Classic Adorned Squares for the shaped blue panels, and I really like the elegant shape. To give the pink panel a bit more interest, I stamped it tone on tone with the Tin Types background stamp to echo the diamond shape of the central panel:-

The flower is from Bitty Bouquets which I fussy cut and shaped a little before adding it to the card, and the bow is from Lovely Laurels. To finish it off, I added a Tiny Tag and snipped off the corners of the base card, before adding some WOS glitter brush to the flower.

I can't wait to see what everyone has come up with this month.

My Favorite Things tulip birthday card

Fairy tale challengeblog

Hello everyone,

I hope you are looking forward to the weekend, and have something good planned if you have some down time. A fortnight has whizzed by and it's time for another challenge over at the Fairytale Challenge blog, where I am continuing to contribute as a guest designer, and this time we are asking you to use a stamp you have not used very often. I decided to use one that I haven't even inked up yet and came us with this CAS card

The stamp set I used is My Favorite Things Spring Tulips and I simply die cut and coloured the tulips with alcohol markers, and also coloured the little hearts with the same pens. It is a little difficult to see in the photo, but I coated them both with some WOS glitter to add some subtle sparkle. I absolutely love tulips and I always have some in the house in the spring, and this card is destined to wing it's way to one of my friends who loves them just as much as I do. Why not pop over to the blog to see the inspiration that the Design Team have for you and join in with us this time.

Inkydoodles gingerbread Christmas card

Hello everyone and welcome to another challenge over at Christmas Card Challenges where today we have a photo of Christmas cookies to inspire you.

I used stamps from Inkydoodles called the Best Gift and came up with this card:-

I stamped everything in Versamark ink and embossed with extra fine white embossing powder on kraft cardstock. The circles were cut with Lil'Inker Stitched Circle dies, and I curved the 'eat drink, be merry' sentiment to fit the circle shape. This sentiment was from the Clearly Besotted 'Most Wonderful' stamp set, and it certainly is proving to be a 'most useful' stamp set for Christmas cards.

I finished it off by adding a red heart to the gingerbread house with a red glaze pen.

Why not pop over to the Christmas Card Challenges blog to see what inspiration the team have for you this week

Remember that you can join us with any kind of Christmas card and it is not necessary to follow the theme if you don't want to.

Papertrey Ink masculine 30th birthday card using 'Noted'

Hello everyone and a particularly warm welcome to a couple of new friends who are joining us as followers this week. Nancy of the summers on 49thstreet blog is a talented artist who has two cute dogs and she makes lovely bright cards using a variety of materials, often creating really cute scenes.
Gloria has also joined us but I'm afraid I couldn't find a link to a blog Gloria, so if you have one, do please let me know so we can come to say hello.

I don't know where this week has gone to! Actually, yes I do. I made the mistake of deciding to sort through a lot of the things I kept from my children's schooldays. You know what I mean - pictures from playschool and beyond, stories, school reports and achievement certificates. I thought I would cull the rubbish and pass little packages on to the children who are now adults with their own households, but of course I had to read everything I picked up, and it took hours and hours. My husband joined me and so we reminisced about past  events and holidays etc, and, needless to say, hardly anything got thrown out!

I'd like to share a CAS, monochrome, masculine card that I made for my son's 30th birthday

I used the Noted stamps from Papertrey Ink to create the chevrons, and cut the 30 out of the pale grey card so you could see through to the bottom layer. The happy sentiment was cut with a die several times and stacked together to add some dimension. I still struggle and am out of my comfort zone with masculine cards but Nick seemed to like it, so that is what matters!

I'd like to play along with:-

Silhouette Cameo 3 wise men Christmas card

Hello everyone and welcome to another challenge over at Christmas Card Challenge. Our theme this week is Travel - think car, sleigh, reindeer etc. When I thought of travel at Christmas, I immediately thought of the Wise Men who followed the star and travelled a long way to visit the baby Jesus, and I came up with this very CAS card:-

I extended the hills over the mats to add a little more interest and the sentiment is from Paper Smooches 'A Blessed Christmas'.

Sweet treat box for Fairytale Challenge

Fairy tale challengeblog
Hello everyone and I can't believe that we have rushed through another week and its the weekend again already!  We have friends coming for dinner tomorrow night and I want to get as much prep done today as I can, so that I will be able to put in a little crafty time tomorrow before they arrive.

I am continuing my Guest Designer spot at the Fairytale Challenge blog, and this time we are asking you to create a box, a topper, or a wrapping for something sweet. This challenge is being sponsored by

Milk Coffee

and I chose to use one of their cute images called Lisbeth Valentine Fruit.

I coloured the image with Copic markers and highlighted with a white gel pen, before cutting it out with a Papertrey Ink Mat Stack 1 die. The sentiment is from My Favorite Things and after stamping it onto the the tag, I matted it onto a larger teal die cut. The gable box was cut on my Silhouette Cameo and I wrapped some ribbon round it and tied a bow before attaching the cute tag.

The Easter Blog Hop was a great success and thank you to everyone who took part. You may remember that I was offering a little gift for the hop

and the winner, drawn at random from the commenters on my blog post, is Kristina. Congratulations Kristina and I will post the gift as soon as you let me know your address.

Well that's all for today and thanks for stopping by.

Mama Elephant and Simon Says Stamp Anniversary card

Hello everyone,

I hope you had a great Easter and enjoyed your chocolate. I had a really lovely weekend with birthday celebrations for my youngest son who is now 30!!, and then a relaxing few days with spring sunshine blessing us for the duration.

As we had company, I didn't get any time to craft so I sat down to play today and join in with a few challenges I haven't tried before. I came up with this CAS card:-

I used this sketch over at Showcase your Style,

and this one from Your Next Stamp

YNSSketch-11

and I incorporated the challenge at Happy Little Stampers

I started with an A2 card base that I embossed with a stitched rectangle die, and then used two Simon Says Stamp stencils -  Falling Hearts and Falling Snow along with a Memory Box Starry Nights one to stencil the backgrounds on each square in pink ink. I then matted them onto stitched square mats, and over stamped the I love you with a Mama Elephant stamp and embossed it with clear embossing powder. The anniversary sentiment is from Papertrey Ink and I added a little heart to dot the i with, but the card looked a little unfinished somehow, so I used a score board to emboss a couple of lines above and below the squares

Mama Elephant 'Bear Hugs' Christmas card

I'd like to wish you and your families a very Happy Easter, and I hope that you were lucky enough to be visited by the Easter Bunny bearing some chocolate goodies. Spring is finally here in my neck of the woods and the magnificent magnolia tree that I can see from my desk is now more or less in full bloom. I'm just hoping that we get a week or two to enjoy it before the winds come back and blow the flowers off the tree again!

Welcome to another challenge over at Christmas Card Challenges. This time we have a beautiful photo to inspire us and I came up with this card:-

I have a really sweet new stamp set from Mama Elephant called Bear Hugs, and I chose to make them polar bears rather than brown bears. I cut a panel using the MFT Diagonal Stitched Dies and stamped the bears and the moon. I then made  masks for the bears, moon and a snowbank before stamping and embossing the snow with clear embossing powder. I took several colours of distress ink and created the sky before removing the masks, and colouring the bears. To finish it off, I added the sentiments, and matted the panel onto some navy card before placing it on the shaped base card.

Remember that the colours and photos above are just for inspiration and you can enter any kind of Christmas card you like.
