Christmas Tags

Hello everyone,

I hope you are enjoying the weekend and have something nice planned for your Sunday. We are back at Christmas Card Challenges today for another 'anything goes' challenge and this time I decided to make some tags.

For the first tags I used my new My Favorite Things Tag Builder 2 die set and made two of them with a positive and a negative cut

For this one I used a Papertrey Ink Tag Sale 4 die and the Framed Out #9 stamps to make the wreath. Some red pearls and glitter finished it off.

On this one I used the MFT Tag again along with a cat image from my new Mama Elephant Three Amigos stamp set, and I added a Christmas greeting.

The next 2 tags used the PTI Tag sale 3 die along with the Polka Dot Parade # 9 stamps and die in different colours, with a sentiment from Clearly Besotted which I stamped and embossed.

This next one also uses Tag Sale 3 but with a stamp from the 2009 Holiday Tag Collection and a sentiment from WPlus9 Pretty Patches: Tree

This one used PTI Tag Sale #8 and a stamp and die from WPlus9 Pretty Patches:Tree. I cut the heart from red card and used Wink of Stella to give some sparkle.

The final two were again from the MFT Tag Builder Blueprints 2 set but this time used the candy cane in positive and negative forms, along with sentiments from PTI Think Big Favorites #21.

Here they all are grouped together:-

I love that the Tag Builder Blueprints dies can be mixed and matched for different tops and bottoms, and that, although the set comes with Christmas images, you can use the basic tags for any occasion. They are smaller than the PTI Tag Sale dies which makes them better for smaller gifts but the the Tag Sale dies do have a bit more impact. I really enjoyed having a sort through all my supplies and having a fun hour putting these together, and I might do the same thing with some non holiday sets so I have some tags on hand for birthdays and other occasions.

Simply Create Too

Hello everyone, and welcome to another challenge over at Simply Create Too, where our theme this time is 'Anything goes'.

I've been itching to ink up my new Papertrey Ink Lovely Laurels stamp set so I came up with this card

This set comes with a die that only partially cuts so you can see the layer beneath

and I think that is really cute! I love the tiny flowers you can add to the wreath too.

Why not pop over to the Simply Create Too blog to see what inspiration my talented Teamies have for you this time, and you have two weeks to make something and link it up.

Easter Bunny card

Fairy tale challengeblog

Hello everyone and welcome to the Fairytale Challenge Easter Blog Hop. I am still guest designing for the challenge and this time the theme is 'Many Colours'.

I chose to make an Easter card with lots of fresh colours, so I cut out a little bunny on my Silhouette Cameo to use as a mask, and I then stamped multicoloured spots around it so that when I removed the mask, you could see the bunny silhouette.

I used the Papertrey Ink Polka Dot Parade #1 stamp set for the sentiment so the spotty theme continued and I added a strip of paper from the Sparkle and Shine pad along the side of the card, along with a strip of pink card.

To celebrate the blog hop I will be giving one randomly chosen commenter a little Easter gift of some Crafty Bitz embellishments,

and the winner will be announced here and on the Fairytale Challenge blog a couple of days before the next challenge begins. Some of the other DT members are offering little gifts too, so do stop by to see them

Papertrey Ink Birthday Card

Blog-hop-logo

Hello everyone,

Today is the day for the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop and this time we were given a lovely photo with lots of yellow and aqua colours to inspire us

Blog inspiration

I had my new Bitty Bouquet stamps waiting to be inked up for the first time and I thought that this would be the perfect first run for them. I needed a birthday card for one of my oldest friends who has a birthday coming up and she loves flowers, so this was a match made in heaven.

I stamped the flowers on white card, cut them out with a circle punch and the central flower was coated with Wink of Stella, which gives a pleasing sparkle IRL but doesn't show up on the photo. The other stamps were from Birthday Classics: April and Boutique Borders: Father. My Misti (love that thing!) came in really useful with this card because the lemon tart ink was really pale and I was able to restamp beautifully until I achieved the shade I wanted.

I'd like to enter this into

Papertrey Ink and Simon Says Stamps Christmas card

Hello everyone and a particularly warm welcome to Natalia of Nataliascraft blog who is a new friend joining us as a follower this week. Natalia does amazing things with die cuts and embossing folders, so why not pop over to say hello and get some great inspiration from her elegant cards.

I've been doing a little happy dance now that spring is officially here, and I'm feeling a bit smug that my Christmas card pile is slowly growing over the weeks. If you fancy making Christmas cards this spring it is time for this weeks challenge over at the Christmas Card Challenge Blog and the theme is the ever popular 'anything goes'

I came up with this CAS card

In celebration of the pale green shoots and buds of spring that I'm seeing all over the place, I chose a delicate green and white colour scheme. I cut several of the 'peace' Papertrey Ink One Liner Dies and stacked them to give a chipboard look. I added a stamped line in an aqua green colour underneath using a border stamp from the Candy Cane stamp set. This stamp wasn't long enough to cover the whole card but it is so easy to line up, and, (note to self) it reminded me that some stamps in Christmas sets can be useful for general cards and don't need to be kept just for Christmas. I put a thin strip of aqua card between the two to give a bit of contrast to the white, and stamped the sentiments from Simon Says Stamps Sending and Wishing set. To fiish it off, I cut some holly with the Holly Jolly dies from PTI and sponged some green ink on the leaves before adding some Wink of Stella and drawing on the berries with a glaze pen

Mama Elephant Up and Away Easter card

Simply Create Too

Hello everyone, and welcome to another challenge over at Simply Create Too. We are halfway through the current challenge which is to make an Easter and or Bunny card, and I came up with this one:-

I used the very cute Mama Elephant Up and Away stamp set and stamped in black Versafine ink and then embossed with clear powder. I stopped using black embossing powder some time ago because no matter how much I swiped the card with an anti static pad, I always got some stray powder on my card, and black dots really show up. With the clear powder you really don't notice the odd stray dot or two,

I coloured the bunny with Copic markers and stamped the sentiments which come from the Waltzing Mouse Spring Baskets set. I stamped and coloured the umbrella on a separate piece of card, added some polka dots with a tiny spot stamp, then fussy cut it and raised it on foam tape to give some dimension. I matted onto orange card die cut with the Lil'Inker Designs stitched rectangle dies and then added a little white gel pen and some Wink of Stella to the umbrella and Bunny tummy to finish it off.

Stamping Boutique bauble Christmas Card

Hello everyone, and Happy Mother's Day to all who are celebrating it today. I've been invited out to lunch with the family today so I'm looking forward to some good food and welcome catch up time.

It's time to sparkle today because we are asking for blue and silver ornaments on the Christmas Card Challenge this time. I chose to use the Christmas Mouse from the Stamping Boutique and came up with this card:-

I simply coloured the image with Copics and cut it out with a My Favorite Things Blueprints die. I added dots of glitter and Wink Of Stella on the hat and bauble, them matted it onto some blue satin shine card and mounted it on to a shaped base card. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink Christmas Labels.

Aurora Wings Clover Pixie Flower Birthday card

Hello everyone, and a very warm welcome to a couple of new friends who are joining us as followers this week. Ka of Stamping Smiles Designs, lives in Wisconsin with her husband and is a talented card maker with a varied style. She has been blogging since January and it would be great if you popped over to say hello. Vicki from Stamp Smiles has been crafting for many years and has served on numerous Design Teams. She has a wonderful, eclectic style and you can find lots of inspiration and tutorials on her blog.

Well, it is time for another challenge over at Fairy-tale Challenge Blog  where I am pleased to be a Guest Designer. This time the challenge is Flower Power and we are sponsored by

Our Sponsor 2015

I chose to use their Clover Pixie for my card and came up with this :-

I printed the digi stamp twice onto white card and coloured it with Copics, before fussy cutting some of the flowers so I could decoupage them onto the base image. I hand cut a mask to cover the stamped image and sponged blue ink onto the background, before sticking on the flowers and adding some glitter to sparkle things up a bit.

I cut the image out with a die from one of the My Favorite Things Blueprints sets, and I mounted it onto a piece of card that I impressed with a PTI Impression plate. A little banner die and some baker's twine finished it off. The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted.

Why not pop over to the Fairy-tale Challenge Blog to see what the talented Design Team have for you and join in with us this time. Have a good Friday the 13th - hopefully some of Clover's magical Pixie dust will keep us safe today!

Stampendous Mega Merry Christmas card

Hello everyone, and I hope you are enjoying your weekend, and getting a little down time. Sunday comes round very quickly these days so it is time for another challenge over at Christmas Card Challenges, and this time the theme is to use a sentiment on the front of the card.

I have to admit that I struggled with this one for a while. I have a tree word shape stamp very like the one above, but it seems to have gone AWOL so I had to think a bit outside the box. I have a large sentiment stamp from the Stampendous Mega Merry stamp set, so I began by stamping and embossing it in black:-

I then took some Copic markers and added broad stripes of colours in the letters:-

I thought this colouring needed something more, so I took a fineliner pen and added some very simple doodling :-

After I had completed each letter I added a sentiment above and below them, and covered the letters with some Wink of Stella glitter:-

I quite liked this but didn't think it looked very merry so I added a smiley face on to the y, and a Christmas tree charm, before matting it onto some red and green card, and popping it up onto the base card with some foam tape:-

So there we have it - it says 'be merry and bright', and now it is! I think that as this is rather graphic, it would be suitable as a masculine card too.

Why not pop over to the Christmas Card Challenges blog to see the inspiration from my fellow Teamies, and join with us this week. Remember that the theme is just for inspiration, and if you don't want to try it, you can enter any kind of Christmas card.

I'd like to play along with
