papertrey ink wedding card

Blog-hop-logo

Hello everyone,
It's time for another Papertrey Ink Blog Hop and this time Nichole gave us some photo inspiration

June Blog Hop Inspiration

"This month we are doing something a bit different and providing you with an inspiration photo along with a few downloadable color and sketch recipe cards inspired by it.  You can choose to work with any of the ideas above or use other components of the inspiration photo to jump start your creation.  Have fun with it and challenge yourself to work outside of your comfort zone!"

I chose to use several of the colours in the photo and to use the circles on the carpet as inspiration for one of the wedding cards I need to make this summer. I also wanted to use the Man and Wife dies, so I started with them and cut the figures in soft stone and the man's suit in a silver gray textured card before adding melon berry accents. I decorated the wedding dress by stamping one of the Bitty Background stamps on the lower part with versamark ink and then clear embossed it to give the dress a patterned satin feel, before putting a strip of melon berry across as a sash.

I then used a Lil' Inker stitched square die to cut a panel of yellow card and stamped circles on it from the Sketched Shapes and  Polka Dot Basics sets. The sentiment is from Quilled Elegance, and I cut the stamp apart to make the two line greeting easier.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the hop.

PS Sorry for the print issues with this post - I don't know what was up with Blogger today but it wouldn't let me edit, colour, size or font today and in the end I gave up!

Holly Jolly Christmas Cahellenge

Holly Jolly Christmas Challenge

Hello everyone and a very warm welcome to Karen who is a new follower this week. It's Tuesday so it is time for another challenge over at Holly Jolly Christmas Challenge and this time we are  hosted by Linda of the Stamper's Touch, and she has asked that you  'Show me some glitter'.

I came up with this card using a very cute image from The Stamping Boutique

I coloured the image with Copic markers and added glitter to the hat, bauble and snowflakes before cutting the image with a die from one of the My Favorite Things Blueprints 3 set. I used other dies from the set to embellish the card and then finished off with stars from the Simon Says Stamps confetti die and stamped and cut their banner die for the sentiment. I love that little bow which gives a great look without the bulk so it is ideal for posting. Why not pop over to the Holly Jolly Christmas Challenge to see what my my Design Teamies have come up with, and do join us because it will be Christmas before you know it!

Silhouette Cameo Wedding car card for Silhouette Challenges

Hello everyone,

I hope you are having a wonderful weekend and getting some crafty time in if you can.

It's the time for another challenge over at

Ch# 14 Create your own Shaped Card
(No pre designed shaped card files)
Begins: Sunday, June 1
Ends: Monday, June 30

A blog dedicated to the Silhouette Cutting Machines.
You MUST use a Silhouette somehow in your project.

Sponsor this month is:

(3) Silhouette Replacement Blades

For my shaped card, I decided to make a wedding card for a couple whose wedding we will be attending in a few weeks. I used a wedding car shape from the Silhouette Store, duplicated it above and welded the two parts together to create the base card. The wheels were cut from plain black card

and they looked a little bland, but  I remembered that I have a tiny chevron stamp, which I rooted out and stamped the wheels with Versamark ink and clear embossed them to create some tyre treads.

I was wishing that I had used textured card for the base card because it also looked too plain but I embossed it with an impression plate to add a little texture. The car lights were cut in red and then coated with glossy accents to make them look like glass. After I cut the heart out, I overstamped it with a tiny polka dot stamp and inked the edges to add a little more interest. This was the final result

Holly Jolly Christmas Card Challenge

Holly Jolly Christmas Challenge

Hello everyone and a very warm welcome to Sarah of Mallow's Crafty Bits, a very talented crafter who serves on a ton of design teams, and welcome also to Corgidusty, who are joining us as new followers this week. I like to put a link onto new followers blogs, so everyone can pay a visit but sometimes Blogger doesn't cooperate and give the link details. That has happened a few times lately so if anyone knows the answer to this I'd be grateful to hear it, and Corgidusty if you could let me know your blog address if you have one, I'd love to visit.

Today is time for another challenge over at Holly Jolly Christmas Challenge and this time we are asking you to put 3 or more layers on a card. Our sponsor this time is

finally the stamps you've been looking for rubber stamp company Rubber Stamps, Gold Leaf, Foil, and Glass Beads for Stampin, Scrapbooks, Card Making, and Paper Crafts

and I used their digi stamp 10803 Sleigh with Presents for my card

I kept this very simple and just resized the image before  colouring it with Copics. I added a trim of  glitter, and glossy accents on the tree baubles, and then matted the layers up before stamping the sentiment. I used a glue pen to dot some glitter spots around the image and called it done. I chose my favourite scarlet jewel card, paper and ink because it screams Christmas to me, and decided to cut asymetrical panels and put them on the pretty shaped card to add a little contrast.

Why not hop over the the Holly Jolly blog to see what my Design Teamies have to show you, and join in with us this week.

I'd like to enter this into

Clearly Besotted card with Dandelion Dreams stamps

Hello everyone,

I hope you and your families are enjoying Father's Day if you are celebrating it in your part of the world. We have the family coming round later supposedly for a barbeque but the weather isn't looking promising at the moment so we'll have to see.

Today I want to share a card I made for my blogging friend Darnell and for the Clearly Besotted challenge

This will be my first time playing along and I have had some of Steph's lovely stamps for a while but most haven't seen ink yet so I thought I'd put that right.

For my card today I used the

Dandelion Dreams set, and I was about to stamp a flower when I saw that the highlighted stamp reminded me of a butterfly wing. So I used the back of the stamp twice to create the butterfly background

and then overstamped with the front of the stamp to create the fancy part of the butterfly.

Then all  I had to do was add the body of the butterfly with a marker.

I used both inks to stamp the sentiment, used the PTI canvas impression plate to add a little texture, and a few flower sequins finished it off.

I mentioned that this is for my blogging friend Darnell  who is having a challenge to mark the occasion of getting her 500th  follower, and I made this card to celebrate her encouragement and support. Many Congratulations Darnell! If you haven't found Darnell's blog yet, I recommend that you scoot over there and be cheered up because she always raises a smile, if not an outright belly laugh with her entertaining posts. She also makes great cards!!!

This challenge asks  that we use NBUS on a card and this stamp set had not been used before, although I think it will not be neglected again!

I'd also like to enter this into the

Addicted to Stamps and More!

Before I go, I just couldn't resist re showing  this card which I made a while ago with  CB stamps, simply because it is one of my favourites and shows how great the stamps are.

Thanks for stopping by.

Lawn Fawn Winter Sparrows Christmas Card

Holly Jolly Christmas Challenge

Hello everyone and a very warm welcome to Kimberly of wienerhoneymooners blog. Kimberley has a wonderful style, is on several Design Teams, and is my 200th follower -  Yay I reached a new milestone. I am chuffed to little mintballs that you all come to visit and I really appreciate all the supportive and encouraging comments you leave. Blogland can be such a friendly place and I get untold inspiration from my visits to people all around the world.

Today is time for another challenge over at the Holly Jolly Christmas Challenge. This time the theme is 'winter birds' and I came up with this card

using the cute Lawn Fawn Winter Sparrows set. I used a Simon Says Stamps stencil and Aleena's Glitter Snow paste to create the snowy background, and die cut the branch and sweet sparrows before stamping and colouring them. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink Tree Trimming Trio, and I stamped and embossed that with white embossing powder.

My talented team mates over at the HJCC blog have some wonderful inspiration, so why not head over there and join in with us this week to get a head start on your Christmas cards. We're almost halfway through the year already and Christmas will be upon us before you know it!!

Thank you card

Hello everyone, and welcome to Catherine who is joining us as a new follower this week. We have just spent a few days in Stratford upon Avon, which is one of my current favourite places to visit, so I'm feeling rested and inspired. When I got back I wanted to make a card with some new stencils and glitter paste so I was very pleased to see that the current challenge at Casology is SHINE

Happily my card fits both challenges

I kept things very simple using a panel of black card with a bluebell stencil from Glitzcraft and a couple of different colours of texture paste. I spread some paste onto a piece of card, let it dry and then die cut the sentiment which is a die from Clearly Besotted Stamps.

I'd also like to enter this into the
That's Crafty Challenge - use texture paste
and
Southern Girls Challenge - sparkle and shine with a bit of bling

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Bugaboo Christmas card for Holly Jolly Christmas Challenge

Holly Jolly Christmas Challenge

Hello everyone,

The time has come for another challenge over at The Holly Jolly Christmas Challenge and this time our theme is Santa and/or Elves? Our kind sponsor is  Bugaboo Stamps

and I chose one of their fun digi stamps Santa Stella for my card

I coloured the image with Copic markers, and added a rug for Stella to sit on. Her expression is so funny that I computer generated a sentiment which I matted and added a little banner tag to. The image is so punchy that I didn't want to add much, so a couple of L'il Inker Stitched Square mats finished it off.

I'd like to enter this into

Christmas at Sweet Stamping - Santa
and
Crimbo Crackers - no designer paper

I've scheduled this post because I am away from home, but I'll be round to see everyone on my return.

Thanks for stopping by
