Holly Jolly Christmas Challenge ' silver and blue.'

Holly Jolly Christmas Challenge

Hello everyone, and welcome to another Holly Jolly Christmas Challenge. This week Meighan is hosting and the challenge is to use silver and blue.

I came up with this card

I folded the card into a stepper card shape and used masks to create the snow lines with some blue pan pastel. I used another mask to create the skyline. I then stamped and embossed the trees and Santa's sleigh in silver. I added the snowflakes with a white gel pen and added the sentiment on a banner shape. It was fun to step outside my comfort zone and try a different card shape for a change.

Why not have a look at the inspiration from the Design Team and join us in the challenge this week?

I am entering this into the Crafting from the Heart Challenge which is for a fancy fold/anything goes, Bloggers Challenge which is to make a background, and Christmas Card Challenges which is anything goes.

Thanks for stopping by

Papertrey Ink Celebrate card

Hello everyone,

Today is the day for the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop

Blog-hop-logo

and this month Nichole asked us to be inspired by all things pink. I love pink and Kraft together and created this card

I'm sorry for the poor light in the photos. I'll show 2 views because I had to take them indoors today because the light was so awful.

I took a kraft card base and stamped Super Stripes across it in Versamark ink. Next I took a piece of sweet blush card and embossed lines around the edge to create a frame. I stamped the word celebrate, in pink, you rock, in kraft, added a couple of champagne glasses and their bubbles, fixed it on to foam squares and placed it in the top right of the card base. Some Wink of Stella glitter on the champagne and some die cut stars finished it off.

Have a great weekend and enjoy the hop. Thanks for stopping by.

Papertrey Ink Valentine card for Casology challenge

Hello everyone, and a very warm welcome to new followers, Anne, of Wicked Designs Blog (my talented Teamie at the Holly Jolly Christmas Challenge), and Babyboo, of Babyboo Mini Lab.

I wanted to join in the challenge over at CASOLOGY this week,

The cue card this time is CONTRAST, so I decided to make a plain white card and add a strip of red to provide the contrast.

I used one of the PTI Confetti Garland Border dies but I kept the red aperture shape and cut it out again in white card for the centre. I impressed the white hearts with the canvas impression plate to add some texture,

and I also impressed the focal panel with the other side of the impression plate - love that thing!
The sentiment came from PTI Think Big Favorites 23 and I also used Lil' Inker Designs Stitched Rectangles.

I'd also like to enter this into the Addicted to Stamps and More challenge which is CAS this week.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are having a good week.

Holly Jolly Christmas Card Challenge

Holly Jolly Christmas Challenge

Hello everyone,

It is time for another Holly Jolly Christmas Card Challenge and this time the challenge is Christmas Animals. I came up with this card

using a cute penguin stamp from my stash. I used Pan Pastels to create the sky and then added versamark dots with a pen before embossing them with white embossing powder. I found that heating from behind gave the brightest, smoothest snowflakes.

Short and sweet today because I'm feeling a bit under the weather.

Thanks for stopping by and do pop over to the HJCC blog to see what my talented Teamies have come up with.

Holly Jolly Christmas Challenge 'Frame It'

Our Badge

Hello everyone, and a specially warm welcome to Radhika of hobbycrafts.blogspot who has joined us as a new follower this week.

The very good news is that Cindy has been working like a Trojan and has got the Holly Jolly Christmas Challenge blog up and running again, so we are able to offer this week's challenge after all. The challenge title this week is 'Frame It' and I came up with this card

I used a Lil' Inker stitched die on my base card and cut a panel to to fit in the frame that it created. I then used my Silhouette Cameo to cut the hanging frames in two colours and pieced them together. The letters were cut with a Sizzix Script alphabet die set and I glued these in the frames and coated them with some Wink of Stella glitter to add some sparkle. The 'Christmas' stamp is from Papertrey Ink Christmas Labels and the stamped bow die cuts were from their Birthday Style set. A couple of gems on the bows finished it off. It feels good to have a couple of next Christmas's cards under my belt so why not join us and head over to the Holly Jolly Christmas Challenge blog to see inspirations from my Teamies.

Bright birthday card

Hello everyone,

Sadly there will not be a Holly Jolly Christmas Challenge this week because hackers have got into Cindy's account and it will take some time to rebuild everything. We hope to be back before too long, but until then, here is a bright birthday card I made. I took THIS week's image from the Muse challenge blog and using the teal and red colours and the cake, I came up with this card

I love a bright, cheery birthday card, and I think this design would be suitable for anyone from a child to an elderly person. I used my new stitching die to cut holes in the top two panels and stitched the line with embroidery floss.  The birthday cake was a slim silver metal embellishment, but I coated it with Versamark and Zing embossing powder

to make it more suitable for this project. The blue and red balloons were cut from stripey paper but I didn't have a yellow stripey one, so I stamped a plain yellow balloon with a striped background stamp.

I'd also like to enter this into the Great Impressions January Challenge which is to use something new, and the Lawnscaping Challengel which is celebrating its 4th Birthday. So Happy Birthday Lawnscaping!!

Thanks for stopping by.

Penny Black card for CASology and Penny Black challenge

Hello everyone, and a specially warm welcome to Janie, from Janie's creative corner who is joining us as a new follower this week.

Things are gradually getting back to normal around here, and I'm on a healthy eating kick to try and shed the pounds that crept on over Christmas. Who am I trying to kid - the pounds have been creeping on for quite a while now and I need to get serious! Getting back to my craft room keeps me out of the kitchen so I made a last minute card for the CASology challenge before it ends today, and the cue word this week is Bubbly

I have a cute little stamp from Penny Black that has a hedgie blowing heart bubbles, so I thought it would make a good Valentine card

I used a stamp from PTI Hanging Out for the grass and snipped apart (being braver is a New Year resolution!) a sentiment from Heart to Heart #11 to arrange it this way. I coloured the heart balloons with ink, and added some glossy accents to the red heart bubble.  I impressed the white panel with the canvas plate to add a little texture and then mounted it onto a scarlet jewel card base.

I'm also entering this into the Penny Black Sending Hugs Challenge.

Hello everyone, and welcome to the first challenge of the year over at the Holly Jolly Christmas Challenge Blog. I hope you had a good festive season, but do you remember how rushed you felt before Christmas trying to fit everything in? Before that feeling becomes a distant memory, why not decide to join our challenge and get a head start on your cards for next time? Each challenge starts on a Tuesday and here are the rules

I just used strips of Papertrey Ink ribbon and cut notches in the ends to make the tree. I added a partridge and pear, along with a gold star for the top, and a little pot to stand it in. The sentiment banner was from Simon Says Stamps, and the background was embossed with an Embossabilities folder. Why not pop over to the HJCC Blog and see what my talented Teamies have come up with.
I'm also going to enter this into the Merry Monday challenge which also is to use ribbon or twine.
