Cricut New home canvas and Papertrey Ink card

Hello everyone,

Its a strange sort of day today. I'm really enjoying the autumn sunshine after the dreadful summer we have had and we are going to have our first barbecue of the year tonight! Before then we are off to the Lowry Theatre with members of our choir to sing Christmas Carols for the publicity launch of their Christmas production of Scrooge. Hmmm Carols and funny hats in the current temperature seems so odd! I suppose that if I were in Australia, this would be a common experience.

Anyway, I think I mentioned that my daughter moved to a new flat last weekend and I just want to share the card I sent her and a little gift I made for her kitchen wall. Laura received some pretty housewarming kitchen gifts with a pretty design.

Whilst I was helping her unpack, I appropriated the packaging the items came in to see if I could make a coordinating canvas for the wall. Papertrey Ink have a challenge this week to make chipboard shapes out of thinner pieces of  piled up card and this gave me the idea of what to do.

I took an 8 x 8 inch canvas and used Papertrey Fresh snow Ink and and some pink ink to create a soft kind of marbled background. The gifts have a folk art type heart image on them so I used my Cricut to cut the large hearts and the message from pink card, and I then cut multiple smaller shape hearts out of scrap card and stacked them with the top piece being cut from the packaging.

I made the little flower in the same way, but offset the base pink hearts to give some definition, and arranged them in a flower shape

I was quite pleased with how this turned out.

I had already sent a new home card which I made with PTI Love Lives Here stamps and dies.

I'm off  to have lunch in the garden whilst it is still so lovely, and I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Thank you card Papertrey Ink

Hello everyone,

I hope you are having a great weekend. We've been moving our daughter into a new flat so it has been rather hectic but as today is PTI Blog Hop day, I'd like to share a card I made. There was an inspiration picture again and this time the theme was colourful stripes

I needed to make a thank you card so I took the opportunity to use stripes on it. I cut the stars with the Seeing Stars dies, and then cut the large star into strips and colored them with Copic markers as per the colours in the inspiration picture. I reassembled the strips as the focal point and ran the smaller star through a star embossing folder.

The sentiments were from Star Prints and Think Big Favourites, and I softly inked the white card with some Hawaian Shores ink to take some of the stark white away. Some HS ribbon, a gem for some bling and a couple of aqua mist buttons finished the card off.

When I first saw the inspiration picture, I thought of making a rainbow card but as I posted one a couple of weeks ago, it was too late to use it here. However, here is another peep at it in case you mised it.

I'm going to enter the star card into this weeks Simons Says challenge which is to use dies.

Thanks for looking in and enjoy all the blog stops today.

Papertrey Ink Birthday card

Hello everyone,

Sorry I haven't updated for a while but things have been a little hectic and my husband and I also spent a few days away exploring Edinburgh for the first time. It really is a fascinating city and I was particularly struck by how the old and new live side by side with the new Scottish Parliament building being opposite the Palace of Holyrood. We walked until we were exhausted but with all the hills and steps, I think we came back a lot fitter. Its my birthday tomorrow but before I go into a decline at the thought of my advancing years, I thought I'd share a card I made that is for the current challenge at Passion for Papertrey. The challenge was to choose a card from one of the Papertrey Design Team and take some inspiration from it. I chose to case a card from Heather Nichols which was created for the Stamp a faire event. The challenge was to create a card with an aperture but I didn't have time to post it then and the card has been sitting on my desk so here is my offering:-

Stamps used were Big Birthday Wishes, Signature Greetings and Little Bitty Bird. I also used the little bird die, some Ripe Avocado dotty ribbon, button twine and a green button.

Thanks for looking,

Waltzing Mouse birthday card and Old Stash Challenge

WMS-63

Hello everyone,

Its been a very busy week for me and I've just realised that I should have already posted this card for the WMS sketch challenge.  I decided to do a simple monochromatic card and used Off beat backgrounds, Gingham and Co  and Teeny trees, which are old friends by now so qualify for my September Use Old Stash Challenge.

I am also going to enter this into the Papertake Weekly challenge which is Anything Goes.
Sorry for the brief entry but thanks for stopping by.

Hugs
