Cricut Wildcard/PTI new home card and gift

Hello everyone,

Happy Friday and I hope you have good things planned for the weekend. My youngest son is moving to a new flat tomorrow so I made a New Home card using my Cricut Wildcard cartridge, based on a card I made on a workshop at Crab Apple Crafts. I added a couple of trees in planters for the sides of the door and decorated them with red dots cut with my Cropodile paper punch.

I used a little brass brad for the door knob and cut 57 out of red card as that is the number of the new flat.

I wanted to do a letterbox for the door, so I looked through my stash to see if I had anything suitable, and found my new PTI stamp set Enjoy the Ride. I stamped the car and cut out the number plate for the letterbox and stamped 'just moved' in the centre. This is going to be such a versatile set with all the different sentiments on it.

I hope he likes it.

We went to dinner at some friends last week and rather than take some after dinner mints, I made some chocolate/almond cookies to take as a gift

I wondered how to wrap them, and found a handmade box

which I was able to dress up with some ribbon

and a tag made with the PTI Mat Stack 1 die and a stamp from the Round and Round anniversary stamp set.

I used a Just Rite stamp for the gift sentiment and cut it out with a circle punch.

Have a great weekend.

PTI / Cuttlebug birthday card

Hello everyone,

I hope you are having a great weekend. I've been having a lazy day today and ignoring all the jobs that have piled up whilst I wasn't looking. I just got some new supplies from Papertrey Ink and of course I had to try some of them out, so here is a 21st birthday card I made for my youngest sons' girlfriend.

I used my new PTI Rickrack Border die to cut the felt strips and some Cuttlebug dies to cut the felt flowers, and then finished it off with a button and some button twine.

The message was done on the computer and then stamped with a Personal Impressions scroll stamp. The background paper is PTI Polka Dot Parade.

I'm entering this card for the current Passion for Papertrey challenge on using dies, so pop onto their site to see some fantastic entries.

Thanks for visiting and, if you have time, I would love to read your comments.

PTI Happy for you card

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog on this wet grey day. The rain has been around for several days now, making our hosepipe ban seem a little silly but the gardens are definitely benefiting so I mustn't complain. We spent the day in Buxton yesterday whilst they were having their carnival for the Festival Fringe. They are very hardy people in those parts and they coped with heavy rain and wind whilst they were up on their floats, smiling and dancing as if it were a beautiful sunny day.

I whipped up a simple card to reply to a wedding invitation that I thought I'd share today. I used a Stampin Up oval punch to make an aperture in the card and then used the scallop oval punch to cut the orange card. I then put the orange scallop onto a larger piece of paper and cut the oval shape out of the scalloped shape to make a scallop frame and an oval centre. I stamped the oval centre with a flower and stem from PTI Boxes, Bags and Tags and stuck it down through the aperture.  I then cut a scalloped orange strip and layered a yellow strip on top using a PTI stamp from For the Graduate to make the lines and a sentiment from Vintage Picnic Sentiments, I finished of the corners with a flourish stamp from Personal Impressions Swirls and Flourishes 1.

I didn't have an envelope of the correct size so instead of making a new one, I cut down a larger one and added the decorative flourishes on the from and a flower on the back flap. This is the first time I've used the flourishes and I love how they turned out.

I have had a little move around in my craft space this week, thanks to help from my husband so I'm looking forward to having more room to play now.

Cricut wildcard/walk in my garden/PTI Summer Card

Hello everyone, I hope you are having a good weekend. I've been playing around with a card for the current Passion for Papertrey challenge which is on a summer theme. I'm not really a beach person so summer for me is characterised by visiting gardens and summer fetes, so I thought I would try a card about that. Wow, I found it hard. I started by using pale blue and green chalks to create a landscape and then I wanted to make some bunting. I found a Christmas tree stamp that used a simple dotted triangle so I stamped lots of them in PTI inks and then cut them out and glued them to some ribbon.

I needed some wooden posts to hang the bunting from so I turned to my Cricut and cut two branch shapes from the Wild Card cartridge. I then wanted to make a sign for the Garden Fete so I cut one from the Walk in my Garden cartridge and distressed it a little. It needed a sun to show it was a summer day but as I didn't have one, I used a flower from Beautiful Blooms stamped onto summer sunshine card stock and added a vintage button. I perched a bird on the signpost but he looked a little lonely so I added a friend. I still think it needs a little something else but I can't think what, so it will have to do. I think this card may fit into another challenge too.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend and as always, I would very much appreciate it if you feel like leaving me a comment.

PTI Circle Card

Hello for the second time today. I've managed to make a card this afternoon for the circle card challenge over at Passion for Papertrey.

I cut the scallop circle card on my Cricut and used PTI Stamps from For the Graduate and Round and Round. I used a tag punch for the thank you sentiment and cross stitched around the scallops in pale green thread from Making Memories.

Cricut wildcard/zooballo baby card

Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog. I spent the day helping at a friend's open garden day yesterday and even though the weather was poor we had lots of visitors so I was busy making sandwiches and preparing cream teas. Its great that so many people are willing to go out on a wet and blustery day to support a charity.

I have been pretty busy this past week and haven't had time to craft so I thought I'd share a card I made a while ago.

The card was inspired by the Die Cuts With a View baby boy paper which I embellished with some doodling. I then used my Cricut to cut the ducklings with the Wild Card cartridge and the Welcome from Zooballoo. The ducklings were flipped, chalked and highlighted with white gel pen.

My daughter has issued a family photography challenge. We each have to present a photo in the 5 categories of people, landscape, animal, plant/flower and an arty shot. What a great idea! Its going to get me thinking out of my box of only taking family shots. The entries will be presented at a family barbecue at the end of August so I'll let you know how we get on.
